Links with Kuwait
The University of Gloucestershire has signed a Statement of Intent with Aknan Global Developments of Kuwait to explore the potential of developing a University of Gloucestershire presence in Kuwait in the longer term. This development is being led by John Deane, David James and Jane Cantwell from the Faculty of Sport Health and Social Care.
Mike Cogger, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Health and Social Care, seen here at the signing of the agreement with Dr Hussian Al Sayegh Chairman and MD of Aknan Global Developments said:
“This partnership is an exciting long term opportunity for the Faculty and University and we are at the very start of exploring the size and scale of this potential development.”

AMMAN-ZARQA LRS projects at JORDAN
M/s. Flex Resorts & Real Estate Co., M/s. Al Madar Finance & Investment Co., & M/s. Al-Aqeelah Leasing, Finance & Investment Co. Consortiums have been qualified among 17 international consortium for the LRS between Amman and Zarqa with a budget of JD 250 million (Jordanian Dinar Two Hundred Fifty Million).
The Financial bids will be opened on Tuesday, 8th May, 2007 assigning the date of contract signing.
The Project Management for this project is Kuwait United Development; Design Consultants are INECO, and the Suppliers of the Rolling Stock are CAF.
The project will be signed with the Jordanian Government on BOT basis for 30 years of investment on the duration of the design and construction will be 32 months.
